How important is organic skin care products to you? To me it's everything. Literally life and death.
I found out the hard way that I'm allergic to a majority of the skin care products on the shelves in all of the stores. Whether the most expensive ones to the cheap stuff, I've tried them all. And that nearly cost me my life.
One day nearly 20 years ago now, I was working for Target. My skin was so dry that it was itching and feeling cracked. You know the feeling..So I decided to buy some Johnson and Johnson Lavender body lotion, considering how much I love lavender. I didn't know that they were using synthetic ingredients. Well let's just say that I ended up in the hospital with my lungs nearly collapsing. The nurse injected the CAT SCAN dye trying to see what was causing my allergies. They thought they would be able to see something with that test.
I'd never had to have that particular test, so I didn't know that I was allergic to the dye. Hell, I didn't know that I was allergic to Johnson and Johnson products until that day. Needless to say, on that day my entire life changed. My lungs almost collapsed. My body was getting cold very fast. No matter how many blankets they piled on top of me, I was extremely cold. I honestly thought I was about to pass away on that day.
Thankfully, the doctor knew what to do. He administered the EpiPen to me, and the cold stopped almost immediately. That was my first time in my life having an allergy attack like that...all because I wanted to moisturize my skin.
Life was different from that moment on. I had to really pay attention to what I put on my skin. It's only the largest most sensitive organ on the body.Nowadays, I make my own skin care products. I get to control what goes into it. I only use organic plant based vegan non gmo products. Why? Because I'm afraid of the outcome.
